(Nov. 19, 2024) - The Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas presented a gift to the Dodge City Family YMCA for its before and after school programs.
Dodge City Family YMCA’s After School Program started in 2013, and continues to be a great partnership between USD 443 and the YMCA.
“The need for affordable childcare is a problem across the nation, and with the support from the Community Foundation and other local donors we are able to provide an affordable after school program for the youth in our community.”
Currently, the after school program has sites at the YMCA, Northwest, Soule, Ross, Miller, Beeson and Linn Elementary. The Y site also hosts Fundays on school out days to provide a safe place for kids while parents are at work. We also have extended times at the YMCA to accommodate parents who need a later pick up time. All day care is available during school-out days so that children have a safe place to go when school is not in session.
Scholarships are available for attendance, and any family who qualifies for free/reduced lunch through USD 443 also qualify for at least 30% off programs and membership at the YMCA which is funded through our Everyone Belongs Scholarship Program.
